There is more anti-competitive behaviour

 There is a Waterbed Company on the Gold Coast that in an effort to promote more business for themselves targets and creates doubt and disharmony in the methods of sealing  waterbed bladders that contain wave reducing baffles. 

That one company advertises that fact on their Facebook page to look under the top of waterbed bladders to see if there is a long patch. Then creates doubt and disharmony to the unsuspecting public.  

The manufacturer targeted has been doing this for over 30 years and is in fact is the manufacturer's 

STRONG point being aggressively attacked. 

The aggressor further adds more negative dialogue into the equation furthering negativity.


  IN SHORT WHY - THERE IS A WARRANTY ON THE WATERBED BLADDER - 

BUT WHAT ABOUT THE  2 3 4 5 LAYERS INSIDE THAT SUPPORT YOU ?????

IS THIS NOT WHY YOU GOT A WATERBED MATTRESS  ??

(  There is one who does have a 5 year warranty on the layers inside )

 Lets look behind the scenes to why this is done....

The scene goes back to over 30 years. George who had a workshop at the back of Gibson's Hardware at Newmarket Brisbane was a night fill manager at a supermarket in Ipswich. The 3IC of that store. having up to 20 droppers and fillers to organize and rotation of the same. George too was a professional photographer having to develop and print wedding and portrait photos for customers. Newmarket was where photos were developed, printed and finished.

George too was a " Work Shop Manager " at the INFLATABLE BOAT CENTER in Springwood.

Just a couple of small ads in the then YELLOW PAGES for photography and some inflatable boat repairs.

THEN......

One day PAUL GIBSON from NEWMARKET HARDWARE came down a said there was someone who had a leak in the corner of a waterbed mattress. Cooroy Industries at the time. That person noted he saw the Inflatable Boat Ad in the Yellow Pages to see what I can do to repair it. As George was a Inflatable Boat Works Shop Specialist who moved on...

It was just all to SIMPLE. The repair was completed and that was that...

After a few months this person had obviously spoken to others and then someone else came in to do a similar repair..

THEN....

The word spread.. Do you do these repairs on site ??. After night fill I did waterbed bladder repairs on site.

GEORGE had to find a supplier for heaters, liners, bladders and more. The Cooroy Agent was in Paddington Brisbane.

THE WAVELESS WATERBED BLADDERS 2 3 4 5 Layers

One of the issues relating to the create wave reducing in waterbed bladders were layered baffles

Cooroy at the time had 520gram layer and beads to make the baffle system float

There was also Aqua Plus Interstate and Others who used other methods to make these layers float.

Very limited life span for the layers, sad to say.

THEN...

As George was a INFLATABLE BOAT WORKSHOP SPECIALIST prior...

One of the requirements was that SURF RESCUE INFLATABLE BOATS needed to be SEAWORTHY

IRB's TAKE a LOT OF PUNISHMENT in RESCUE and IRB races

SO AS A WORKSHOP INFLATABLE BOAT SPECIALIST adhesive techniques need to be SPOT ON - MEANING AIR TIGHT UNDER PRESSURE

When 30 to 35 hp outboards propelling the I.R.B.s

BUT IF A INFLATABLE BOAT HAD A BREACH in one of the flexible BULK HEADS INSIDE THE PONTOON that is not accessible from the OUTSIDE then WHAT. THIS BREACH IN THE BULKHEAD OF THE I.R.B. rendered the boat UNSEAWORTHY

The reason this happened is at the time HYPALON was to expensive and Inflatable Boats were the made from PVC.

CORRECTED a long time ago, initially the top of the IRB bulkhead has a lot of sun and bum damage, hence a breach in the bulkhead.

CONCLUSION

It was then GEORGE had to breach and cut open a INFLATABLE BOAT REPAIR THE BULKHEAD.

THEN GEORGE HAD TO RESEAL THE CUT up to 400mm long..

After curing TEST for air leaks UNDER PRESSURE with SUCCESS

CASE STUDY 1 Clontarf

 

 Soft sided waterbed bladder with layers and reinforced corners. Arrived and found a seam leak starting with some water in the liner. Again there was NO YEAR DATE on the left hand side. There was NO WARRANTY CARD. The supplier could not be contacted.

From customer GUESSWORK note Guesswork the bladder was about 8 ( eight) months old.  Into the 5 years. Repairs had to be conducted.

 FIBER SHIFT

In this short time the fiber has shifted to the level that one side was very very firm and the other side was nothing but water.

The customer in question LOVES WATERBEDS but is preparing to get rid of the water bed in due course, sad to say, or when moving away.

No written warranty card and no written warranty card on the website to see.

To address this issue of exposing warranties was never completed by Fair Trading. A situation was made where the GOLD COAST TRADER supported a customer claim against the another original Trader who could not supply the quality custom waterbed package due to weather issues by siding with the consumer in Monto in a campaign against the original supplier.  The Gold Coast trader must have played some very dirty discusting verbal tactics to Monto to get his off the shelf wares that are not custom made in their door. Then the Monto Job wants a refund on the custom bed that is just need spraying and finishing in Rosewood. All custom timber work construction was completed weeks ago and still is to date. 

Work completed by the original supplier was wasted and timber work was wasted

Apart from Quality,  LAYERS come in different weights like 300gr - 500gr - 520gr and our 1000gr per layer

Generally T. E. P.  is the addition of the layers into a 

common denominator.

Let's assume that there are for example two different quantities of bottled water 300ml bottle and a 500ml bottle.

You send someone down to the local store. 

The 'Someone" selects the "5 bottles" you requested 

The price looks good but the quantity is very different. 

5 bottles x 300ml  = 1500 

5 bottles x 500ml = 2500

            There is a lack of clarity in the 5yr warranty. One of our (now) customers ended paying over $70 to get a 

                   replacement sent.  The 5 year warranty card never seen?. Year dates on tag never seen? The massive 

                   increase with imported bladder products failing within six months to a few years increasing. Going to 

                      alternative non waterbeds and then after trying a non waterbed come to us with their stories. 

Something need to be said to create awareness to manipulated disinformation that can hurt the consumer.

           

            An other of our (now) customers made a claim that when purchasing a waterbed bladder 6 years ago the baffle 

                    support system collapsed in about 6 months. Then 3 years after he purchased another on the word of

                    ( improved baffles ) and the same happened.  Then came to us ...

            To claim 5 stars can be false and misleading as it is orchestrated to subdue other businesses in competition 

                         affecting their sales.


            To claim and misrepresent products from other businesses

            A possible conspiracy to dominate with others to subdue is also questionable should soon submitted for

                    investigation


             In a very misleading statement when purchasing online ... Clearly when a product is made overseas can be 

               likened to  fr..... The site is QUOTING .....

            " All our Products have been made locally in Australia with high quality material and ..... "



                        

Where Ever Possible if in doubt when setting up a waterbed - Ask a professional - There can be simple solution a phone call away - This was installed over 20yrs ago in a king timber frame waterbed - No fault of the manufacturer but a lot of these creases could have been averted - A simple call could have sorted this out - There was a compromise to comfort due to improper installation.

There are quite a variety of products in any industry. Go to a proper showroom with proper on the floor display to  (1) See  (2) Feel  (3) Experience and lay on these beds. Everyone is different.

Over the decades thin 300gr polyester layers and now some of the 500gr polyester layers have failed in supporting actions.

After 4 to 5 years baffles tend to break up and sit in one corner.  We have gone out and found many wave reducing mattresses do not perform. With servicing it has been found with some brands a 4 layer lasted only 3 months from installation.  Many are sold on price and failure of the support inside the mattress is not covered under warranty. Only the bladder skin or envelope is covered then only the seams. Then you need to ask if the support system fails what happens then.....

We too have our own brand. Our brand has been baffle tested over a few decades. We went to a customer who was moving interstate and needed the waterbed bladder drained. 

We found out that the level 3 wave reduction system was fully intact AFTER 14 Years. That is quality at its best.
